Extended Institutional Development Network

The Strategy

In seeking to find sustainable solutions facing the communities, Goshen adopts the following 5-point home-grown strategy:

Firstly; guided by her Vision, Goshen conducts Community Asset Mapping (CAM) and, using the results of CAM, Goshen studies the national policy architecture and then compare and contrast the two outcomes

Secondly; when this process exposes quality gaps, Goshen researches global best practices and identifies relevant national stakeholders from the ranks of Government, State-Owned Enterprises, Private Sector and the Civil Society for solidarity, support and partnership

Thirdly, Goshen then identifies suitable locations in Namibia to pilot these global best practices, including the building of INCLUSIVE INSTITUTIONS, RESILIENT SYSTEMS and EFFICIENT PROCESSES as required by these global best practises and then operate these INSTITUTIONS with staff trained as Shepherds at Goshen’s Global Leadership Institute in Usakos

Fourthly, the solid results of the Pilot are then shared with relevant stakeholders for possible scale at constituency, regional and national levels

Fifth and finally, through partnership arrangements, Goshen supports the relevant stakeholders in the scaling process so as to ensure that the Goshen signature is not lost in the larger reality

This strategy produced 7 multi-sectoral pathways – grouped into 7 clusters – which are all based on real-world best practices which brought about proven transformations globally. By anchoring the pathways to the UN 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development (SDGs), the Commonwealth Strategic Plan 2025-2030, the African Union Agenda 2063, SADC Regional Indicative Strategic Development Plan 2020-2030 and, Namibia’s own National Development Plan 6, Goshen ensures that our development interventions are in sync with the national, regional, continental and global development agendas.
